Samsung RS8000 Review – The Perfect Fridge Freezer for a Busy Family Life
Are your children like mine with an insatiable appetite and their heads always in the fridge? Then this Samsung RS8000 review is for you!
Going to the fridge is pretty much the first thing they do when they get in from school. Straight into the kitchen, fridge door open whilst shouting the first proper sentence they’ve uttered since collecting them from the school gates, “Mum. I’m hungry”.
Samsung RS8000 Review
We have had our Samsung American Fridge Freezer for a few years now and I can honestly say it has been a game changer for our family life.
When we updated and redecorated our kitchen we knew we had to upgrade our Fridge Freezer. I have always loved Samsung products and this fridge is no exception.

It is very sleek looking and fits into our kitchen décor perfectly, adding a sophisticated and luxurious look to the room. It was very easy to plumb in the water and ice dispenser and we were up and running straight away!
Samsung RS8000 looks sleek and sophisticated in our kitchen
Very Large Capacity for a Fridge Freezer
We’re very lucky that our kids love fruit and vegetables but, with our previous fridge freezer, we often found that we couldn’t fit all our food in so a lot of items would tend to go off and we would have to throw some of our vegetables away!
The size of the fridge is also apparent when our extended family come to ours for a Roast Dinner on Sundays.
We are able to do a big shop during the week and fill the Samsung RS8000 fridge with a joint of beef, chicken and all the vegetables without difficulty.
And, as my Husband has never been very good with portion control, we are able to store all the leftovers easily to reduce food waste.
The Samsung RS8000 has a very generous 609 Litre capacity (equivalent to 33 bags of shopping!) due to its SpaceMax Technology and it is extremely well thought out with regards to the layout. The shelves are well spaced out and the door shelves can hold a lot of content.
I can always find what I need and it is brightly lit so I’m never struggling to find long-lost jars of tartar sauce at the back of the fridge

The Samsung American Fridge Freezer easily stores all our food for a large family Sunday Roast.
Our Food Lasts Longer in the Samsung Fridge Freezer
In our old fridge, I found that I was forever scraping spinach or cucumber that had gone off before the best-before date from the bottom of the fridge.
The Samsung RS8000 definitely keeps our food feeling fresh for a lot longer and I am finding myself going to the shop less mid-week to replace food that has to be thrown away!
It really has helped us to be better with food waste and reduce our carbon footprint.
Keeping your food fresh for longer
No Need to Defrost the Freezer
Probably one of my least favourite jobs in the house, along with descaling the toilet, was to defrost the freezer!
It meant trying to eat all the food in the freezer beforehand and more often than not, our food would become the casualty of a frosting freezer, impaled at the back by an ever-growing wall of ice.
But, no more! I have not had to defrost the freezer once and there is no evidence of the ice devouring the food, thanks to Samsung’s frost-free technology.
We have now had this Samsung RS8000 for nearly 4 years and we still have not needed to defrost the freezer!
The Fridge That is Fabulous for Social Gatherings
I think the biggest game changer for us as a family with the Samsung RS8000 is how we entertain! It fits perfectly into our kitchen and is easily accessible, which makes serving drinks and food a lot easier.
We absolutely love to entertain, whether that be a large family Roast Dinner on a Sunday or friends over for drinks and nibbles on a Saturday night.
If you are looking for a Samsung water dispenser fridge freezer, then the Samsung RS8000 does the job perfectly!
The built-in water dispenser means I no longer have to do a last-minute dash to the supermarket because I’ve forgotten the bag of ice for drinks again as the ice maker can provide crushed ice or large chunks of ice on tap.
We live in a particularly hard water area so the filtered water dispenser is a welcome addition to our kitchen and I have noticed that I no longer have to descale the kettle every couple of weeks!
The dispenser also has a handy lock which is a fabulous function to stop those little fingers from turning our kitchen into a scene from Frozen.

Is anyone for tea and cake?

My Verdict on the Fridge Freezer
I can thoroughly recommend the Samsung RS8000
I had always dreamed of having an American-style Fridge Freezer with a built-in water dispenser and over the last couple of years, we were able to see why these styles of appliances are so popular.
The fact that I am not playing Tetris with the food every time I order a big weekly shop is enough reason alone, but it is a fabulous addition to a house that regularly likes to entertain.
The Samsung RS8000 is a good fridge because it offers spacious storage with its unique SpaceMax technology, energy efficiency with its Digital Inverter Compressor, and convenient features such as an ice and water dispenser and adjustable shelves.
Its sleek and modern design also adds a stylish touch to any kitchen.
I see a video review showing that the water dispenser was situated out too far from the lever resulting in water going over your hand. Is this the case with you?
I can honestly say, we have never had any problems with the water dispenser or with it going over our hands. My 5 and 7 year olds also use it often and have never had a problem with it. Mel 🙂
