Wallpaper Ideas for Your Home – Woodland, Dark Floral and Laundry Room Inspiration

I have always found it relatively easy to decorate with wallpaper. I think this is because I love color and often get overwhelmed with all the choices out there!

The beauty of wallpaper is that I know straight away whether I love it or not, and once I have chosen a wallpaper for a room, I pick out the colors from the wallpaper, narrow it down to 3 colors, and use them in wall and accent colors.

Depending on how bold the wallpaper is, depends on what the main color will be in the room.

Say you have a dark floral wallpaper, I would go with the lightest color in the paper and use that on the rest of the walls to stop it from becoming overwhelming (unless you are going for a complete dark and dramatic look, then go for the dark tones!).

If the wallpaper is fairly neutral, or light in tone, I try and pick out the darkest color in the wallpaper and use that in the soft furnishings, furniture and potentially the rest of the walls.

However, I find the easiest way to decorate with wallpaper is to use the background color for the rest of the walls. Most wallpaper will have a pattern or print, but it will be on top of a main color. Use this!
