Weekly Wallpaper Ideas for Your Home – Dark, Floral and Green

floral wallpaper in a dining room

I don’t really have a theme in mind when I choose wallpapers for the week (I probably should!), but I seem to have picked out a few dark floral wallpapers this week.

I’m a big fan of dark floral wallpaper in the bedroom, I think it provides a dramatic backdrop, especially behind the bed. To stop the room from becoming too dark, it’s always best to add light soft furnishings and paint the rest of the room a neutral color.

Let’s take a look at my favorite wallpapers this week:

Abyssaly Black and Gold Wallpaper Ideas

This is a very bold design, perfect for the back of a cabinet or as a bar area. The paint palette is a dramatic and luxurious combination perfect for adding depth and elegance to any space.

The black and gold wallpaper itself features intricate botanical illustrations in rich golds, warm browns, and crisp whites against a jet-black background. The contrast between the black base and the delicate floral motifs creates a striking yet refined visual effect, ideal for feature walls, dining rooms, powder rooms, or sophisticated home offices.

Paint Colors Explained:

Light Neutrals (Top Row):

Use these to balance the bold wallpaper.

  • SW 7006 Extra White – Crisp and clean. Use for trim, ceilings, or contrast walls.
  • SW 7656 Rhinestone – A cool, soft gray. Ideal for adjacent walls to add subtle contrast without clashing.
  • SW 6150 Universal Khaki – A warm beige-taupe. Works well for grounding the space or painting furniture.

Mid to Deep Warm Neutrals (Bottom Left & Center):

These tie in with the warm tones in the wallpaper.

  • SW 9618 Woodbridge – A lighter brown; great for furniture, cabinetry, or additional walls in larger rooms.
  • SW 6152 Superior Bronze – Rich brown bronze; use to create a cozy, sophisticated feel (think built-ins or wainscoting).

Deep Accent (Bottom Right):

  • SW 6993 Black of Night – Deep black with a hint of warmth; perfect for dramatic contrast, especially on doors, trim, or accent furniture.
